GARTH'S CORNER: Eichel On Vesey

What I don't understand is why August 15th? if he is a free agent why can't he be pursued on July 1st when all Unrestricted Free Agents can shop for the best deal.
Oh and by the way, Evan Rodrigues looks like he could be a solid player in the NHL, he won just about every puck battle he was in the last 2 nights, small sample sign, but impressive none the less.

So the Leafs are tampering because they employ Vesey's father, but Eichel giving words of encouragement as to why he should sign in Buffalo is a-okay?

I actually find the vast majority of Buffalo commentators here to be decent people. For the most part they seem to be just as embarrassed by certain "contributors" as the rest of us are...

I think the kid should have taken the Nashville offer . He was a good fit there. You could live in worse places. I still think it comes down to Boston and Toronto with everyone else having a faint chance since he now has 4 months to decide. Being a Harvard Grad . He will probably make an informed decision.

Vesey projects to be a career 3rd liner in the NHL. I know Goorf wants him just so Leafs don't get him. I hope we sign him in August and he has a great career with the Marlies.

All scouting reports I've read slot him as 3rd line. Maybe he would be top line with you guys. I just want to sign him to spite everyone, I'm like that.
